SECURITY QUESTIONS
This page is designed to answer your security questions. If you can't find what you are looking for, please contact us.
Is online shopping safe?
Shopping via the Internet is perfectly safe as long as you take a few simple precautions. Always check that the site you are buying from has secure payment pages - this will ensure that your details cannot be stolen or read by anyone. Only the web server will be able to read your details.
Ensure that the web site is trustworthy. Does it look professional? Is it easy to contact them? Remember, if you feel uneasy about a site, go elsewhere.
How do online payments work?
The process is very simple:
1. Your card details are entered into a secure page on the website.
2. When you submit your form, the browser encrypts your details and sends them to the web server.
3. The web server decrypts the details, and then makes a secure connection to a payment service provider (PSP).
4. The PSP then requests authorization from the acquiring bank and sends back a message to the web server indicating whether the transaction was successful.
What encryption do you use?
We use a Thawte 256-bit security certificate to secure all transactions for Rubberband Gun products. This provides the highest level of commercially available encryption. Some older browsers do not support 256-bit encryption - in these cases, our certificate will automatically provide your browser with the strongest encryption level that it can support.
Are my personal details safe?
Your personal details are stored in our database which only our authorized staff have access to. Remember, we will never give out your personal details to a third party.
Are my credit card details safe?
Card details are encrypted when they are entered into the browser ensuring that they cannot be read whilst being transmitted to our server.
